This policy explains what personal information One True Message Foundation collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
One True Message Foundation is a registered charity in England and Wales (charity number 1206615). Our official details are published on the Charity Commission register. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
Information we collect
We may collect personal information when you request a free Qur'an, ask for support, make a donation, contact us or sign up to hear from us. This may include your name, email address, postal address and phone number, along with anything you choose to tell us in a message.
This website does not ask you to create an account, and it does not use advertising cookies. Video thumbnails on some pages are loaded from YouTube, which means YouTube receives the technical information your browser normally sends when it loads an image.
How we use your information
- To fulfil your requests, for example sending you a free Qur'an or arranging a call
- To process and acknowledge donations
- To reply to your enquiries
- To send you updates about our work, but only if you have agreed to receive them
We never sell your personal information.
Our project websites and payment providers
Several of our projects have their own websites: freequrans.co.uk, becomemuslim.com, welcometoislam.co.uk, askislam.co.uk and dawahbible.com. Information you give on those sites is used to deal with your request. The AskIslam privacy notice explains how WhatsApp messages are handled.
Donations are processed by PayPal, Patreon or, for appeals, LaunchGood. These platforms collect your payment details directly under their own privacy policies, and we do not see your card details. They may share your name, email address and the amount you gave with us so that we can keep a record of donations.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, or for as long as the law requires, for example for financial records.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct or delete it. You can also withdraw your consent to hear from us at any time.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
